Haggis Cup 2011
This year is set to be the biggest most ambitious Haggis Cup yet. The Haggis Cup is on the 9th of April at Scotstoun Stadium Glasgow
Eight teams in two groups playing in a round robin format with the top two teams of each group
playing off against each other for the famous Haggis Cup.
The eight teams in the tournament this year are.
The Glasgow Sharks: - The host Club for the Haggis Cup and Scotland’s oldest Aussie Rules Club. The Sharks traditionally do well in this tournament and last year split their numbers to field 2 teams both of which made the semi-finals. They’ll be looking to go one better this year and lift the Cup for the local fans.
The Dublin Demons: - Last year’s winners of the Haggis cup
Huddersfield Rams: - Losing in the Grand Final last year they are out for revenge
The Aberdeen Dingoes: - The Dingoes won the Haggis cup in 2009 and are aiming to reclaim the trophy.
The Edinburgh Bloods: - The Bloods are SARFL premiers 2010 and are looking to start this season strong.
Wimbledon Hawks:- Newcomers to the Haggis Cup, the Hawks are looking at doing well
Milano Footy Club:- Narrowly lost the AFL Italia Grand Final, Milan are looking for a preseason win to kick start their season.
Solna Axemen: - Dominant in their league the Axemen took the SAFF Premiership in 2010 and is trying to extend their form in Europe.
